Maryland Library Legislative Day 2019

Maryland Library Legislative Day is an opportunity for LLAM members to join other librarians and library supporters across the state to build support for Maryland libraries! This is our chance to connect with our elected delegates and senators to advocate for library issues.

Schedule

8:00am – Continental Breakfast and Current Issues Briefing
Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Library
Enjoy breakfast, compliments of LLAM, as the Maryland Library Association’s legislative panel briefs participants on current library issues and talking points for senator/delegate visits. Briefing packets will be provided.

9:30am – Senate and House Delegation Visits
State House (walking distance from Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Library)
Connect with your local delegation to visit your elected delegates and senators.

5:30pm-7:30pm –  Legislative Reception
Senate Office Building, President’s Conference Center
The Legislative Reception is an opportunity to mix and mingle with legislators and other officials.

You’re invited!!!

You’re invited to join the LLAM LRI (Legal Research Institute) Committee for 2015 – 2016. We’ve already begun to gather volunteers for the committee, and would like your help!

This year’s LRI, a cybersecurity symposium, will be held in March / April of 2016, and will be co-sponsored with the University of Maryland – Baltimore’s Health Sciences & Human Services Library. The targeted audience will be librarians, IT personnel, government administrators, and attorneys interested in cybersecurity issues. We need help with planning, logistics, and implementation. You can determine your level of participation based on your interests and availability – from intensive planning to hosting a table at the event.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Camilla Tubbs at ctubbs[at]law.umaryland.edu. Camilla Tubbs (LLAM Vice President / President–Elect) and C.J. Pipins (LLAM Secretary / Treasurer) will be serving as co-chairs of the LRI Committee.
