Below is the slate of candidates:
Vice President/President-Elect: Teresa Sites
The Vice-President/President-Elect serves as a member of the LLAM Board of Trustees, coordinates LLAM programming, performs such duties as are assigned by the President, and serves the following year as LLAM President.
Teresa Sites serves as Law Librarian I at the Montgomery County Circuit Court Law Library. She graduated from Georgetown University earning a degree in English and Fine Art and continued to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree (MFA) in Painting and Drawing at George Washington University. She completed her Master of Information and Library Science (MLIS) degree at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is an award-winning artist and has recently served as Vice President (Communications) of the non-profit organization, the Montgomery Art Association. Teresa has project management experience, overseeing the publication of an artist book featuring over 100 members. Teresa also loves planning activities and has organized field trips to law libraries for her team and educational activities for seniors. She been an active member of LLAM since 2022.
Secretary: Jennifer Gibbins
The Secretary serves as a member of the LLAM Board of Trustees and attends and keeps minutes of all Board meetings.
Jennifer is new to LLAM, Maryland, and law librarianship. She is the Research and Faculty Services librarian at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law Thurgood Marshall Law Library. She provides reference services and teaches Introduction to Legal Research and Advanced Legal Research.
Within AALL, she is currently a member of the JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) committee within ALL-SIS. She recently received the Alan Holoch Memorial Grant from the AALL Social Responsibilities Special Interest Section’s Standing Committee on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI), so she will perform service to that committee in the upcoming academic year. She received her MLIS from the University of Washington, her JD from UCLA School of Law, and her BA from Carleton College. Prior to becoming a law librarian, she practiced copyright and trademark law.
Board Member: Mary Jo Lazun
Board members serve as members of the LLAM Board of Trustees, attend Board meetings, and participate in its discussions and deliberations.
Mary Jo Lazun is proud to have worked in all three branches of government and three levels of government. Mary Jo was one of the first webmasters with the Treasury Department’s Fiscal Service. She also worked at the Maryland State Law Library and the Charles County Circuit Court Law Library. She loves her current job as a legislative librarian with the Maryland Department of Legislative Services. Her hobbies include reading, crocheting, cooking, and riding her recently “electrified” bike.
