Lobby Day Info for LLAM

Join Us in D.C. for the First-Ever AALL Local Chapter Lobby Day

The first-ever chapter lobby day in Washington, D.C. will be held on Thursday, April 18 from 8:30 am to 5pm. The day will bring together members from local area chapters and the Government Relations Office staff for a morning training and afternoon meetings on the Hill.

Date: Thursday April 18, 2013
Time: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm EDT
Who: Members of LLAM, LLSDC, SEAALL, and VALL
Location: Lutheran Church of the Reformation 212 East Capitol Street  Washington, DC 20003

Join AALL’s Government Relations Office staff and chapter members for a full-day Lobby Day event on Capitol Hill! LLAM members are invited to attend a morning training session where you’ll learn best practices for successful meetings with your members of Congress. In the afternoon, you will attend pre-scheduled meetings with your members of Congress or/staff staff to advocate for AALL’s policy positions.

Constituent meetings with members of Congress are one of the most effective tools for advocacy. These lobby visits solidify relationships between your chapters, AALL, our members, and legislators, while providing elected officials with the critical information they need to make informed decisions. In turn, lobby day meetings serve to reaffirm AALL’s reputation as the authority on information policy issues and empower law librarians as advocates for themselves and the profession. This training is free to all chapter and AALL member participants. Don’t miss out on this chance to make a difference!
