Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Teaching and Learning Services, these entry level positions will contribute to the expansion of a learner-centered information literacy instruction program by designing, creating, and maintaining sustainable online and blended learning objects such as web-based tutorials, instructional videos, research guides, and websites, with the main emphasis on further developing and maintaining the information literacy program for the Academic Writing Program (ENGL101) and academic based outreach programs. The successful candidates will enjoy teaching and engaging with students, partnering with the Libraries’ Terrapin Learning Commons and campus services, such as the Teaching and Learning Transformation Center, developing innovative instructional programming, and supporting evidence-based practice through the design and implementation of student-centered assessment. The candidates will collaborate with colleagues in the Teaching and Learning Services unit to lead information literacy instruction for first-year students and develop academic based outreach programs to support diverse populations and programs that fall outside traditional departmental structures including Global Living & Learning Community partnerships, Honors College Partnerships, and extracurricular academic partnerships, such as Veterans and transfer students. The Teaching and Learning Librarians are responsible for three categories: 1) librarianship, 2) service and 3) scholarship and creativity
Requirements: Education: MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution or international equivalent by date of hire. Experience: Experience or aptitude in implementing information literacy theory and practice in the classroom. Experience or aptitude in providing in-person or digital reference services. Experience or aptitude in designing and leading professional development activities around pedagogical theories, learning techniques, and/or student-centered learning. Experience developing learning objects such as tutorials and videos. Demonstrated ability to bring creative ideas forward in service of helping students learn about the value and use of libraries for their academic and personal success.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Engagement with trends in higher education, including, but not limited to, the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. Knowledge of online learning techniques, including the ability to design library tutorials, videos, and learning objects. Knowledge of instructional design, student-centered teaching practices, and student learning assessment, including the ability to design assessments, analyze results, and implement evidence-based changes. Commitment to evidence-based and reflective practice, evidenced through engagement in professional development, service opportunities, scholarship, or coursework. A strong and visible personal and professional commitment to diversity and inclusion as a means to support institutional excellence.
Preferences: One-year experience in an academic library setting. Experience or aptitude in supervising graduate and/or undergraduate student workers. Familiarity with LibGuides software and other web discovery tools. Familiarity with course management software, particularly Canvas.

Responsibilities: Professional level work in providing library services including reference, readers’ advisory, programming and outreach, and library instruction to the public of all ages. Work requires maintaining considerable expertise in the use of information technology including, but not limited to, databases, email, downloadable e-books, e-audio and the internet. Acts as part of branch’s management team and assists in the management of branch operations and the supervision of branch staff. May assume responsibility for branch operations as designated person in charge in absence of Branch Manager.
Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree and three year’s work experience in a library or educational setting. One year of supervisory experience.
Special Requirement for non-MLS candidates: Completion of Library Associate Training Institute within two years following appointment; and ability to maintain eligibility by completing 90 hours of training every 5 years.

Responsibilities: Performs gift-processing and administrative work in support of the Library’s Foundation. Work involves handling confidential information with discretion and includes timely and accurately recording gifts in The Raiser’s Edge/NXT cloud-based software. Provides support for ongoing development activities such as: constituent-record keeping, gift acknowledgement and account reconciliations, special events, direct mail, donor recognition and other fundraising programs of the Foundation as needed.
