This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. This position is part of the the Office of Research Services (R) at the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbent follows accepted practices in resolving non-recurring problems and meeting deadlines; completed products are evaluated for effectiveness in meeting goals; extensive guidelines in the form of verbal instructions, manuals, and regulations are applied.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-7. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Provide reference service including reference search, re-file, interfile, copy, scan and redact information in various filing systems.
  • Arrange records according to established criteria and/or reviews records to provide input on how series of records should be arranged.
  • Assist archivist with preservation and rehabilitation projects.
  • Assist and prepare general description work and online catalog descriptions according to NARA lifecycle standards.
  • Assists in accessioning and disposal of all record types under the guidance of an archivist or archives specialist.

Summary

You will serve as a LIBRARIAN in the Learning Resource Center of UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.

Duties

  • You will manage the library instruction program.
  • You will provide classroom-based reference instruction.
  • You will identify and implement new topics and methods for instruction to meet the needs of the university’s educational mission.
  • You will design web-based learning modules.
  • You will create and develop topics of interest to university patrons to be included in the instruction program.
  • You will work with students to create modules for students on specialized library topics.
  • You will conduct in-depth, highly specific scientific and medical searches for faculty, staff and students using medical and bioscience databases.
  • You will advise patrons on the most effective use of bibliographic resources.
  • You will serve as a Learning Resource Center liaison with the University’s School of Medicine, Graduate School of Nursing and Postgraduate Dental Colleges.

Position: Coordinator of Branch Services
Location: Allegany County Library System
Salary: $34,235 – $51,360

Responsibilities: The Coordinator of Branch Services supervises the Service Leaders and oversees and manages the delivery of services and activities of branch staff. The Coordinator of Branch Services supervises all branch operations so ACLS enriches and enhances the community through its spaces, services and partnerships. They work with Service Leaders and other departments to create and manage efficient and effective processes and workflows to carry out library functions. They work with Service Leaders and other departments to coordinate the delivery of optimum customer service and service processes. The Coordinator of Branch Services plays a pivotal role in coordinating the work of the branch staff so that events, activities, partnerships, and initiatives can be carried out and fulfill the intended goals of improving the lives of those in the communities we serve. The Coordinator of Branch Services is a vital part of the library administrative team and represents the public services staff and their perspective in strategic meetings.

Requirements: Master’s Degree OR Two years of experience in fields or trade related to management, district wide supervision, and/or library management. Must be able to successfully complete Library Associate Training Program and maintain certification. Proven history of working with and coordinating varied stakeholders and the ability to craft work plans that achieve results. Proven record of supervisory experience, delegation, and oversight.

  • Plans, presents, and promotes library-related programs for adults and tracks related expenditures
