Location: Welch Medical Library, Johns Hopkins University- Balitmore, MD
This position will serve as an information expert for all faculty, staff, fellows, and students in several assigned departments. They will build a dynamic, collaborative relationships with the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health departmental members by providing a variety of group instruction sessions, individual consultations and specialized information services and by participating as a member of departmental research- and information-management-related project teams. Will also build an evolving set of data services to meet the needs of clinical, public health and basic science researchers across the research data lifecycle from its creation to preservation. Will be embedded within assigned departments in accordance with Welch Medical Library’s service model, which includes providing expert information services, and delivering an all-digital resource collection, and sophisticated interfaces. This position reports to the Associate Director, Informationist Services.
Position: Medical Research Librarian
Location: Evidera- Bethesda, MD
This position supports the mission of the library which is to obtain, maintain, and search for information that will assist scientific staff in the delivery of quality products to their clients. This person must possess excellent advanced biomedical database searching skills, ability to support project teams with research in a variety of therapeutic and disease areas, and conduct literature search training for junior research staff. Qualified candidates must be proactive and work independently. Administrative duties include tracking and reporting subscription usage, initiating license renewals with vendors, and coordinating database and vendor-sponsored trainings.
Position: Librarian III/Public Services Specialist
Location: Hillcrest Heights Library, Prince George’s County Memorial Library System- Temple Hills, MD
Salary: $52,872 per year and a generous benefits package.
Oversee and supervise library branch staff; monitors and evaluates job performance; and oversee staff training and development. Oversee library information/circulation services desk, as needed. Plan and prioritize service for customers at library branch. Provide reference, reader’s advisory, and computer assistance to library customers and provides instruction on the use of library catalog and databases. Promote library services and collections to library customers. Manage customer relations and resolve any escalated customer issues and conflicts. Participate in the maintenance and development of the library collection by weeding assigned areas and identifying library materials in need of replacement. Manage department staff weekly schedule. Process material lists including missing items. Maintain library collection and place orders for new books and materials. Keep abreast of current library policies and procedures. Participate in community outreach as needed. Oversee programming for library customers as needed. Work in various departments or branches other than where regularly assigned including youth and teen services departments. Collect, maintain and evaluate data relating to age-level or branch performance and program effectiveness. Keep informed of professional developments in library service. Attend professional meetings, workshops and conferences and serves on committees. Assume the duties of a senior staff member upon request. Perform circulation tasks when required. Perform other duties or responsibilities that are related to the position.
Position: Librarian I- Adult/Teen Services
Location: Thurmont Regional Library, Frederick County Public Libraries- Maryland
Salary: $44,541.00 Annually
This professional position will assist in managing Reference/Adult Services at the Thurmont Regional Library. This position provides direct library service to the general public, and especially to adults and teens. Supervision may be given to shelvers, substitutes, on-call employees, and/or volunteers: and direction may be given to department staff. Position: STEM Librarian

The incumbent reports to the Head of the STEM Library and manages a combination of duties and expectations. The incumbent serves as STEM subject librarian, with responsibilities in: Collections and Content, Reference and Research Consulting, Teaching, Learning and Literacies, Outreach and Engagement, and Scholarly Communications and Research Data Services. Additionally, the incumbent will develop programs benefitting STEM disciplines to expand Research Commons @ STEM [http://www.lib.umd.edu/rc]. Programming may focus on issues relevant to the STEM community in the following categories: Information literacy, Scholarly communication, GIS, Maker lab, etc. STEM Libraries serve several colleges and schools, including the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the A. James Clark School of Engineering, and the College of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences. Along with other STEM and other subject librarians, the incumbent is in a key position to help the University of Maryland Libraries define a completely new role for subject librarians — a role that will allow the Libraries to be more closely integrated in the whole educational and research process at the University of Maryland. The subject librarians have vision and dynamic perspective to help shape new approaches to faculty/library relationships.
