Loudoun County Public Library is seeking an innovative, visionary, passionate, and community-minded leader for the Division Manager for Programming and Community Engagement position. This senior management position, reporting directly to the Library Director, has oversight of the library system’s programming and community engagement initiatives. As a member of the Library’s Senior Management Team, this position plays a critical role in the overall success of the library system, and must be an advocate for the library and the community. Specific responsibilities include: examine, interpret and anticipate community needs and develop strategies, programs and services to meet those needs; oversee implementation and evaluation of services and programs; identify, initiate, and nurture community partnerships; manage outreach services to the community in locations such as jails, juvenile detention centers, homeless shelters, senior living facilities, etc.; play a leadership role in measuring the impact of library programs; create a sustainable growth strategy for programs and services that ensures the quality, appeal, and reach of the library programs; seek out innovative approaches to service and program delivery and problem resolution; represent the library to other agencies and organizations; supervise the development and administration of the Division’s budget, forecasting funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies and monitoring expenditures; and apply for grants that will enhance library programs and community engagement. Location: Geological Survey – Reston, VA
Salary Range: $39,311.00 to $62,888.00 / Per Year

As a Library Technician within the Libraries Program OFFICE, some of your specific duties will include:
Perform document services tasks including interlibrary loan (ILL) and document delivery borrowing, lending, and related scanning.
Use library systems to perform tasks that include searching, creating, editing, updating database records to reflect status changes, generating notices regarding invoices, overdue notices, holds and recalls.
Search for and accurately shelve texbooks, journals, maps and other materials using appropriate classification systems.
Provide technical services support for activities including acquisitions, collection development, preservation, inventories as directed.
Staff the service desk and respond accurately to patron questions regarding library resources, facilities, procedures, location of materials, referring questions to librarians and managers appropriately.
