Technology Librarian

The Loyola – Notre Dame Library seeks a dynamic, innovative, and experienced individual to provide leadership to support digital and technology services. The Technology Librarian will support day-to-day operations with some supervisory responsibility, and provide strategic direction for digital and technology services that enable research, teaching, and learning programs in the Library.

The successful candidate will communicate effectively and work collaboratively with units throughout the Library to support a range of services that may include discovery, digital library initiatives, and instruction. The position will coordinate services with technical staff at University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions (USMAI) and also work collaboratively with information technology departments at Loyola University Maryland and Notre Dame of Maryland University. A demonstrated ability to thrive in a changing work environment and a commitment to professional development are important. The candidate will understand and be able to communicate library-related technology trends that support user-centered library services to a diverse population of undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty.

Position: Consortium E-Resources Acquisitions & Licensing Contractor
Location: Collaborative Solutions Maryland (CSM) – Adelphi, MD

Collaborative Solutions Maryland (CSM) seeks a very experienced and knowledgeable contractor to perform consortium acquisitions & licensing for the University System of Maryland & Affiliated Institutions (USMAI) Library Consortium.

Collaborative Solutions Maryland (CSM) will award an annually renewable contract with the possibility of extending the contract up to five years. This is a not to exceed cost contract which details specific responsibilities and includes the requirement to help define on-going responsibilities based on changes in the licensing market. Performance of the contractor will be evaluated annually by the USMAI Executive Director with input from specified USMAI committees and the directors of the consortium’s member libraries. The contractor will be expected to work closely with assigned consortium committees, and with representatives of USMAI’s member libraries.

Scope of responsibilities includes coordination with assigned USMAI committees on all aspects of the acquisitions, licensing, and evaluation of those electronic information resources which are shared by all member libraries of USMAI. The contract also includes other specific duties related to e-resources licensed on an opt-in basis by subgroups of the USMAI membership.

The intent of this contract position is to support USMAI strategic priorities to expand and more effectively administer the shared e-resources collection, as well as other initiatives to increase resource sharing and identify new opportunities for innovation, cost efficiency, and effectiveness in procurement and licensing activities among USMAI member libraries.
