Holland & Knight is seeking a Library Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Region. The position will be responsible for managing library services for the firm’s Washington, DC, and McLean, VA offices. Candidate must have a progressive approach to library science, demonstrate initiative, and work well independently. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of library services for the region, including research, business and reference services, training and instruction of efficient research techniques, compiling and tracking legislative developments, managing technical services, budget management, and fostering and maintaining vendor relationships. Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide variety of legal and legislative research for attorneys and staff in the Washington, DC and Northern Virginia offices, and in the firm’s other domestic and international offices, as part of the Library and Research Services team. • Administer the Washington, DC and Northern Virginia office libraries, including supervision of outside filing services in both locations. • Conduct library orientations for new attorneys and staff. • Provide assistance and training, both in person and remotely, to end users on various electronic legal databases and web-based resources. • Process invoices for payment and monitor expenditures against budget targets. • Identify collection strengths and weaknesses; target titles for cancellation; interface with attorneys, practice groups and the Library and Research Services team on collection development of print and electronic resources. • Provide and implement current awareness services, as appropriate. • Record and report research time for billable projects.

• Strong proficiency using a variety of electronic legal databases, including WestlawNext and Lexis Advance, Bloomberg/BNA, CCH IntelliConnect, HeinOnline, RIA Checkpoint, and Securities Mosaic. • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to excel under pressure. • Flexibility to support attorneys and staff in multiple office locations using a variety of communication strategies. • Familiarity with library cataloging and the LC classification system. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to interact with IT staff to resolve technical issues involving Library databases. • Experience with vendor contract negotiations and budgetary expense management in a library environment preferred. Educational Requirements: • Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program. • Minimum three (3) years experience in a law library required, preferably in a law firm setting.
