We are looking for a dynamic leader to fill a our circulation manager position vacancy at Towson’s Cook Library!

As a member of Albert S. Cook Library’s Public Services Unit and reporting to the Assistant University Librarian for Public Services, the person in this position provides overall management of all Circulation department operations which include circulation services, print and digital reserves, stacks maintenance, and opening/closing the Library. The Circulation Manager recommends and implements practices and procedures for circulation services; trains, supervises, directs, evaluates and schedules circulation staff; provides and ensures high quality customer service related to the department’s functions.

Summary of Duties:

The summary of duties listed below is not exhaustive. Additional duties are dependent upon the needs of the hiring division.

Assign tasks and duties to staff as needed

Monitor and evaluate the progress of staff work

Recommend a work improvement plan when necessary

Chair department meetings when requested

Represent the department in manager’s meetings

Assist the Department Manager in developing initiatives for Strategic and Annual Plans for the State Library Resource Center (SLRC)

Serve on library committees

Interpret library rules and policies for customers
