We seek a full-time technical services librarian to join our
focused, client-service oriented library services team.
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Library Science, or
a Bachelor’s degree with significant, relevant law firm library
experience. The technical services librarian manages the
Library’s acquisitions, coordinates electronic resource
management, aids in library maintenance and upkeep, and
assists all Firm personnel to the best of his/her ability referring
any questions beyond the scope of his/her knowledge to the
U.S. Director of Library Services/KM. Successful candidates will
take ownership of the position displaying strong client service
focus, superior organizational skills, the ability to apply sound
judgment and reasoning, and a strong team commitment. This
position supervises the department’s library assistant; prior
supervisory experience while desirable is not required. Position:
Exempt. Supervisor: Director of U.S. Library Services/KM.
Supervises: Library Assistant I.

Summary of Core Duties and Responsibilities:
• Places orders with library vendors and maintains accurate
records of library purchases using Library Access database;
• Processes all new library acquisitions;
• Monitors and manages specific library budget categories in
conjunction with the Director of U.S. Library Services;
• Coordinates with NY office to catalog local holdings, assign
call numbers and create online catalog records, updating
records to reflect changes as necessary;
• Supervises library assistant and processing room activity;
• Coordinates and manages onboarding procedures,
communications and documents for incoming lawyers and
consults with colleagues in NY office and the U.S. Director
to ensure uniform procedures are followed;
• Coordinates and manages access to electronic resources, in
collaboration with colleagues in NY and the U.S. Director;
• Works with all resource vendors regarding invoices and
general account management; and
• Assists with physical maintenance and general upkeep of
library space and collections.

Minimum Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Library Science or Bachelor’s degree
with significant, relevant law firm library experience;
• Proficiency with computers, Excel, databases and the
• Ability to work effectively as part of team and independently;
• Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills;
• Superior detail orientation;
• Ability to handle physical aspects of library work with or
without reasonable accommodation; and
• Ability to work extended hours as Firm needs require.
