OVERVIEW: Performs a variety of graphic design, marketing and public relations
duties to promote Library programs and services to the community.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field. One year of experience in graphic design, communications, marketing, public relations or related field. Requires knowledge of public relations principles, print and online design, excellent oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.

The Beneficial-Hodson Library of Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, invites applications for a Senior Reference/Education Services Librarian (Team Lead). We are seeking an experienced individual who is enthusiastic, creative, and visionary. This librarian leads and supervises the team that plans, coordinates, and provides reference services and research skills instruction; provides faculty outreach and develops collaborative and innovative teaching and learning opportunities inside and outside of the classroom; works with the director and the library staff in strategic planning and policy development; selects reference materials, including databases, for acquisition; in collaboration with the Reference Team, designs and maintains the library website; works with reference department colleagues, the Library Director, and the Consortium Manager in managing reference databases. Some evening work required. Weekend work may be required on occasion. Will be asked to participate in the inclement weather rotation. Salary $46,800, firm. Benefited, full-time position.
