Under the direction of the Archivist/CDS Acquisitions Manager, the part-time incumbent acts as an integral part of the Beneficial-Hodson Library staff to promote the effective operation of the Library’s acquisitions functions. Performs specialized technical and clerical acquisitions duties in acquisitions and serials including book ordering and serials check-in. This position requires the ability to set priorities, to utilize strong organizational skills, to consistently apply a keen eye for detail, and to successfully complete sometimes repetitive tasks. The incumbent may be asked to supervise student workers. This is an 18-hour-per-week permanent appointment, which will be worked during a schedule that coincides with regular daytime Library hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The hourly rate is $12.00.
Education and/or Experience: Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. One to two years library/acquisitions work strongly preferred.
Technology Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, Access, etc. and familiarity with email and Internet software for IBM or compatible equipment required; strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Experience with acquisitions module of an Integrated Library System highly desirable.
