Title: Library Assistant for a law library
Categories: Part-Time, 3-5 mornings each work week

Employer Info: Library Services Group provides law library management to law firms, branch offices and corporate legal departments in Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore, Harrisburg and Washington DC. Services range from update filing, print and electronic library mail check-in and routing, collection development, library budget management, space planning, library mergers and library closings. LSG staff members provide services to over 60 law firm main libraries and branch libraries.

Position: This position is for 3-5 mornings each work week in a law firm. Averaging 9-20 hours per week, the job includes print and electronic check-in and routing of library journals and serials. It can be a job share splitting the week between two people each week.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Library Assistant sorts and electronically checks in library mail, routes print and electronic journals, maintains routing slips in an electronic publication module and shelves publications on return from route.

Qualifications: Undergraduate degree

Library experience:

Must have electronic database experience, (familiarity with EOS is a plus)
Ability to access and enter information accurately and quickly, using an electronic database system
Excellent organizational skills with specific attention to detail
Ability to prioritize
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Be able to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to follow extremely detailed instructions yet must be flexible
Good communication skills a must
Be able to lift a 20 lb. box, use a step-stool, reach top and lowest bookshelves

Rate: Hourly compensation commensurate with experience.

Position: The Part-time Law Librarian supervises Library Assistants performing duties of print and electronic check-in and routing of library journals and serials. The position is part-time, 1-3 mornings each work week as needed.

Duties and responsibilities: Supervisorial duties include training and monitoring progress of Library Assistants and may include actual performance of the following tasks as needed. The Library Assistants sort and electronically check in library mail, route print and electronic journals, maintain routing slips in an electronic publication module and shelve publications on return from routing.

Qualifications:

A degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution.
At least 3 years Law Library Experience
Must have skills in training and supervising staff
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Communicate well all around
Experience with integrated systems such as EOS is required
Excellent organizational skills with specific attention to detail
