As an Archivist in the Images and Archives Section, you will:

Serve as the primary coordinator of the activities of the historic audio-visuals program with responsibility for setting standards for work evaluation; formulate production goals; monitor a complex work flow; coordinate activities with other sections, divisions, and staff of NLM and stakeholders outside of NLM; and ensure that work in process is properly tracked and that production goals are met.
Coordinate collection maintenance activities, such as evaluating new acquisitions; undertaking preservation and reformatting actions; identifying titles for full-level cataloging and duplication; cataloging titles; coordinating with the Preservation and Collection Management Section to duplicate titles; and maintaining an inventory of the collection.
Use expert knowledge to provide policy and budget guidance; participate in managing the budget for historic audio-visual collections; prepare budget requests for the program; and monitor projects and plan expenditures for the program.
Coordinate assignments for the staff and contractors in the historic audio-visuals program including inventorying collections; preparing or upgrading automated collection control records; undertaking proper preservation measures including housing, reformatting, cleaning, and storage under proper environmental conditions; moving collections; charging out collection materials for collections management activities; and responding to reference inquiries.
Serve as the Project Officer and/or Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) on contracts involving collections management activities.
Participate in project planing and evaluation, and lead planning efforts for the program.
Prepare or oversee the preparation of narrative and statistical reports about, and provide analysis of activities of the program.
Participate in the development and implementation of overall policies and procedures for the Section and of NLM-wide policies and procedures related to audio visual materials.
