The incumbent of this position is responsible for providing direction of operations and guidance at one of DOJ’s library locations. Primary duties include:

· Managing and supervising employees within assigned areas, and carrying out administrative and human resource management functions, to include furthering goals of equal employment opportunity (EEO);

· Managing all general and legal reference and research services at one or more Justice Department libraries;

· Providing expertise to library users in both print and electronic legal information collections, as well as providing advice on a broad range of research resources in a variety of subject areas;

· Serving as liaison and advisor to one or more major litigating divisions, to include overseeing their research and publication needs, anticipating research needs, and initiating services to address them;

· Maintaining quality control of physical and virtual collections, as well as research services provided;

· Organizing and developing outreach projects to components across DOJ; initiating training and orientation programs for components; and

· Initiating and maintaining professional relationships with librarians, information specialists, and other major national information services.
