We are seeking a Reference Librarian to join our Washington, DC office. Responsibilities include: assisting attorneys and staff with reference and research, including interlibrary loan and document retrieval. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position is responsible for coordinating and participating in online training, including but not limited to: LEXIS, WESTLAW, WESTLAW Business, PACER, RIA Checkpoint, CQ.com, National Journal online and DIALOG. The Reference Librarian is expected to provide legal, business, financial and bibliographic information to attorneys and staff. The Reference Librarian also assists with the evaluation and selection of library materials and resources. In addition, the position is also responsible for providing technical services assistance, including but not limited to: cataloging, serial maintenance, acquisitions and vendor negotiations. The Reference Librarian reports directly to the DC Library Manager. The A&B Library staff works as a team, therefore, research requests and projects may be assigned from any of the 8 offices in the United States. A Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school or 2 years of relevant library experience; extensive knowledge of online and print legal materials; awareness of current trends in legal research, library automation and library instructional programs.
