Middle/Upper School Librarian
Maret, an independent K-12 school in Washington, DC, seeks a dynamic school librarian to join its vibrant Middle and Upper School Library. Responsibilities include teaching weekly classes in the middle school with an established, but evolving, 21st-century information literacy curriculum; collaborating with teachers in grades 5-12 to teach project-based research skills; acting as a student advisor; and assisting in collection development, technical services, reference, and circulation.
A strong candidate should be a creative self starter with a proven track record of working collaboratively, a motivated self learner with the ability to stay on top of emerging trends in libraries and technology, and passionate about children’s and young-adult literature. The ideal candidate will work three-quarters time, beginning in Fall 2013, and have a Masters of Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent experience.
