Director of Library Services–University System of MD at Hagerstown
The University System of MD at Hagerstown seeks application for a Director of Library Services. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the Executive Director. USM benefits included.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, the Director of Library Services of the USMH Library is the senior professional responsible for planning, staffing, budgeting, communicating, outreach and policy making for the library. The Director oversees the provision of Library services to students, faculty and staff, manages collection development of print and electronic resources, and administers Testing and Proctoring Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited program. Five years of professional library experience, including a minimum of two years reporting directly to a senior librarian. Experience with electronic information retrieval and providing library instruction in an educational environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a senior librarian and library experience in an academic setting.
OTHER: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
