The Sheridan Libraries of Johns Hopkins University are seeking a Student Community Engagement & Reference Services Librarian. This position plans, designs, implements, reviews, and assesses programs and services that foster the research needs of students, with an emphasis on undergraduates. Capitalizing upon the intersection of orientation, learning, and research support, the Academic Liaison Department recognizes a need to focus on creating effective and sustainable connections between the libraries and targeted undergraduate learning environments and communities. This position will incrementally and collaboratively build partnerships and programs that support student learning through positive engagement with students in both formal and informal settings. This position also provides ongoing assessment, analysis, and feedback about the model of reference used within the Academic Liaison Department, which has broad implications for providing frontline general research support.
- MLS from an ALA-accredited library school or an advanced related degree is required. An MA in an academic discipline is desired.
- Track-record of outstanding user-centered services, including evidence of providing a leadership role in shaping these services
- Three years professional library experience is required. Minimum of three years professional work in an academic library is desirable.
