Research Librarian–Large Philadelphia Center City law firm

Large Philadelphia Center City law firm is seeking a Research Librarian who will report directly to the Director of Library Services. Applicant must be an experienced, service-oriented individual who can work cooperatively with a larger Library team which serves attorneys, paralegals and other legal and administrative staff  in 21 offices located throughout the US, Canada and England.

 

Responsibilities will include high end research in legal and business areas, current awareness administration and monitoring, publication of the weekly Library e-newsletter, training of attorneys and paralegals, and other professional library duties, such as copyright and permissible uses monitoring. Specifically, the applicant must have 3+ years of pertinent reference experience, with solid high-level legal and business research experience and law firm experience is preferred.

This position will require strong critical skills, including the ability to analyze large amounts of information, identify trends and other analytics for legal and Library projects. Applicant must have strong communication skills, extensive researching experience, be adept in tracking and packaging information, and must be able to create effective presentations.

Applicant must have a good working knowledge of research services, such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, Bloomberg, BNA, IntelliConnect, RIA, PACER, Hoovers, D&B, Accurint, TLO, etc. and systems applications, such as Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.

 

Job & Educational Requirements:

 

Masters of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited school is required and a JD is preferred.
